Polystyrene, in clear rigid GPPS and impact-resistant HIPS grades, is used in disposables, packaging and appliance parts. It processes easily and offers good dimensional stability.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between GPPS and HIPS?

GPPS is glass-clear but brittle; HIPS resists impact thanks to rubber modification but is opaque. Choose GPPS for clarity, HIPS for toughness.

Food-grade GPPS and HIPS are available and widely used in applications such as yoghurt cups.
