Frequently Asked Questions

Are biodegradable and compostable the same?

No. A compostable product fully breaks down within a defined time and conditions (EN 13432); "biodegradable" specifies neither. We recommend certified compostable products.

Is it more expensive than conventional plastic?

Yes, usually 2–3 times. However, regulatory obligations, brand value and packaging tax advantages can change the total cost picture.

How does it compare with recyclable packaging?

Where recycling infrastructure exists, recyclable PE/PP often has a lower environmental impact; compostable products are advantageous where they can be collected with organic waste.
