Barrier Films

Multi-layer films with oxygen and moisture barrier.

Barrier films are multilayer films that limit oxygen and moisture transfer, extending the shelf life of food. They are the basis of meat, cheese and ready-meal packaging in vacuum, MAP (modified atmosphere) and lidding applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between PA/PE and EVOH barrier?

PA/PE provides a medium oxygen barrier and high puncture resistance; EVOH layered film has very low oxygen transmission and is used where long shelf life is required.

How much does it extend shelf life?

It depends on the product and barrier level; for fresh meat, vacuum barrier film can extend shelf life from days to weeks.
